Audit Log and Usage
The Audit Log tracks activity across your OpsGrip workspace — who did what, when, and where. It's your accountability layer.
Where to Find It
Go to Settings → Usage from the sidebar. The Audit Log is the primary feature of this settings tab.
What's Tracked
The Audit Log records key actions across your organization: - User activity — Logins, logouts, password changes - Data changes — Items created, edited, or deleted across modules - Settings changes — Configuration updates, module toggles, role changes - Team changes — Members added, removed, or role-updated - Admin actions — Data exports, billing changes, account modifications
Each log entry includes: - Who — The team member who performed the action - What — Description of the action - When — Timestamp - Where — Which module or page the action occurred in
Why It Matters
Compliance
If your organization has compliance requirements (SOC 2, HIPAA, internal policies), the audit log provides a record of system access and data changes.
Troubleshooting
Something changed and nobody knows who did it? The audit log tells you. This is especially useful for configuration changes in Settings that affect the whole team.
Accountability
When multiple team members manage the same data (inventory, KB articles, tasks), the audit log keeps everyone accountable without requiring manual tracking.
Who Can Access
Only Admin users can view the full audit log. This prevents team members from seeing detailed activity of other users.
Tips
- Check the audit log when investigating unexpected changes
- The audit log is especially valuable when you have multiple Admins making settings changes
- Use it for quarterly reviews to see team engagement patterns (who's creating articles, logging inventory, closing tasks)
