Culture Badges & Leaderboard
OpsGrip's Culture & Engagement module brings a little fun to IT operations with badges, recognition, and a team leaderboard.
Badges
Badges are awarded for milestones and achievements within OpsGrip: - Completing onboarding phases - Writing knowledge base articles - Closing tasks and projects - Logging inventory items - Helping teammates
Badges show up on team member profiles and contribute to leaderboard scores.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard ranks team members by engagement and contributions. It's a friendly, visible way to recognize the people who are actively building your team's knowledge base, keeping inventory current, and closing out tasks.
The leaderboard isn't about competition — it's about visibility. When someone writes 10 KB articles in a month, the whole team can see that contribution.
XP System
Actions in OpsGrip earn XP (experience points): - Completing onboarding tour stops - Publishing KB articles - Closing tasks - Logging inventory items - Other tracked activities
XP accumulates on your profile and feeds into the leaderboard ranking.
Where to Find It
Culture & Engagement is accessible from the sidebar when enabled. Badge counts and leaderboard rankings also appear on team member profile cards.
Configuring Culture Features
Admins can configure Culture & Engagement settings in Settings → Culture. Options include: - Enable or disable the leaderboard - Choose which activities earn XP - Customize badge visibility
Enabling the Module
Culture & Badges is optional. Enable it in Settings → App → Module Management. If your team culture is more low-key, no pressure — turn it off and the sidebar stays clean.
Tips
- The leaderboard works best on teams of 3+ where there's enough activity to be meaningful
- Badges are a lightweight way to encourage KB contributions — the team member who writes the most articles is often the unsung hero
- Use Culture features during the first few weeks of adoption to build momentum and engagement
